Support Soup

Soup is free and Apache-2.0, and it stays that way. There is no paid tier, no license upgrade, and nothing held back for a commercial edition. It is built and maintained in the open on a single 4 GB laptop, which is why every performance number on this site is measured on that machine rather than claimed.

The free thing that helps most

If Soup saved you a training run, star the repo. It costs nothing, it is what makes the project discoverable to the next person, and it is the single most useful thing you can do.

Fund the work directly

Donations buy one specific thing: GPU time for the work a 4 GB card cannot reach. Multi-GPU training, validation above 8B, and Apple Silicon are all blocked on hardware today, not on effort, and each one is tracked in the open as an issue you can read before you give anything.

Before you click: payments are processed by Stripe under the maintainer's registered business, MePlay, Inc.. That name, not Soup, is what appears on the checkout page and on your card statement. Soup takes no card details itself.

Other ways to help

  • Report what broke. A precise issue with your config and the real traceback is worth more than most patches.
  • Send a pull request. The help wanted label is kept stocked with scoped, self-contained work.
  • Tell someone it exists. Most people fighting a fine-tune have never heard of it.
  • Or just use it and tell us what got in your way.
